In the Fall term of 2008, Michigan Interactive Investments underwent a
transformation. The starkest change that MII will be undertaking will
involve the way it assembles its membership. Previously, MII had a
membership as large as 300; however, it was the decision of the
Executive Board of MII that the mission of the organization should be
the best student investment organization in the country, rather than the
largest. In an effort to achieve this goal, MII will be capping the
membership of the organization to a maximum of 60 members. This new
structure will allow MII members to delve into multiple areas of the
markets as well as take an active role in running the MII portfolio.
Under this new structure, any currently registered Undergraduate Student
at the University of Michigan may apply to become a member of MII. Applications for the 2008 school
year will be accepted until mid to late September.
Once accepted, members are welcome to stay in the organization until
their graduation. Each accepted member must furnish a $100 portfolio
deposit which is refundable at the end of the academic year.
Additionally, members must pay a $50 fee once per year to cover
operating expenses for the club. If you have any further questions feel
